How to Create Facebook Ads for a Dropshipping Store

Step 1: Facebook Business Manager Setup

The Facebook (Meta) Business Manager is the tool you use to manage ad accounts and pages. 

To set it up, head over to busienss.facebook.com/overview, click “Create an account,” and log in with your personal account. Then enter a name for your business, your business email address, and your own name. Once done, click Submit and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.  

When the Business Manager dashboard opens, you can start adding your assets to it. Go to Business Settings, then Accounts, and click Pages to add an existing page or create a new one. 

Next, head to Instagram Accounts and connect your business Instagram profile. Finally, go to Ad Accounts and create a new ad account. Make sure to set your time zone and currency correctly, as these cannot be changed later.

You can also set up a payment method by going to Business Settings > Payment Methods. Choose between PayPal and a credit card based on how you want to pay for running the ads. To prevent overspending, you can set up a spending limit that pauses your campaigns once you hit a certain amount.

Another thing you’ll want to do is add team members if you’re working with a partner or virtual assistant. This can be done by going to Users, then People, and sending them an invite. You can also turn on two-factor authentication under Security Center to keep your account secure.

Step 4: Create Your Creatives for Facebook Ads (Based on Research)

Based on the research you conducted, you can now start building your ad creatives. Look at the winning ads you saved and identify what made them work.

Most successful dropshipping ads follow a hook-body-close structure, where the hook grabs attention in the first three seconds, the body shows the product in action, and the close tells viewers what to do next. You can use this same framework for your own ads.

When it comes to the format, choose something that complements your product. If your research shows that UGC-style testimonials performed well for similar products, consider filming something that feels like a real customer recommendation.
