Most lists of best selling 3D printed items come from printer makers and show ideas, not sales. This one is built from sales: every eBay.com listing with "3D printed" in the title that sold in the 30 days to October 1, 2026, grouped into product types and ranked by what buyers paid. Eight types came out on top, led by light-up signs and painted figures, which earn the most. Demand is steady but spread across 2,556 sellers, and the money sits in items priced at $15 or more.
Key takeaways
- In the 30 days to October 1, 2026, 3D printed items on eBay.com recorded 41,120 sales and $827,820 in revenue across 2,556 sellers.
- Items priced at $15 or more made 43% of the sales but 76% of the revenue. Cheap prints sell often and earn little.
- Light-up signs have the highest typical price of the eight types, at a median of $39.99. Diecast and scale-model parts sell the most units.
- Many of the top listings use characters or brand logos the seller does not own. eBay does not allow that without the rights owner's consent.
- Check any design against live demand first: the eBay Product Research Tool shows sold items, sell-through and earnings for a keyword over 7, 14, 21 or 30 days.
How we ranked these 3D printed items
The numbers come from the ZIK Marketplace Index (ZMI), covering 159.9M tracked US eBay listings, pulled 2026-10-26. The sales window is the 30 days to October 1, 2026, the index's last refresh for eBay.com.
We kept listings whose title contains "3D printed", "3D print" or "3D-printed" and took out everything that is not a printed object:
- filament, printers and printer parts;
- printed T-shirts and blankets, flat prints and digital files;
- branded goods that only use printing in their manufacture, such as golf clubs and bike saddles;
- restricted goods: replica firearms, slingshots, knives and injection kits.
What remained was 18,971 listings.
Then we sorted them into product types and ranked the types by revenue from sales priced at $15 or more. Two reasons for that rule. A $4 print can top a units chart without earning its seller much once fees and postage come off. And a type only made the list with at least 100 sales at that price in the 30 days, so every pick has proven demand.
Two limits to keep in mind. ZMI tracks active listings that sold at least once in the window, so ended and out-of-stock listings are missing and every total is a minimum. And the types overlap a little, because a single listing can match two of them.
The 8 best selling 3D printed item types on eBay
In eBay.com sales for the 30 days to October 1, 2026, the best selling 3D printed items are light-up signs, painted figures, diecast and scale-model parts, cosplay masks, car trim, workshop organizers, retro gaming stands and musical instruments. Light-up signs and painted figures earn the most.
| Rank | Product type | Sales at $15+ (30 days) | Revenue at $15+ | Sellers | Median price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Light-up signs and lamps | 1,327 | $54,832 | 65 | $39.99 |
| 2 | Statues, busts and painted figures | 1,002 | $51,494 | 161 | $27.99 |
| 3 | Diecast and scale-model accessories | 1,688 | $48,806 | 106 | $13.89 |
| 4 | Cosplay masks, helmets and armor | 890 | $45,560 | 148 | $24.99 |
| 5 | Car and truck parts and trim | 665 | $30,937 | 123 | $17.49 |
| 6 | Home and workshop organizers | 592 | $22,838 | 113 | $16.99 |
| 7 | Retro gaming and console add-ons | 729 | $17,205 | 81 | $15.99 |
| 8 | Musical instruments and parts | 261 | $9,721 | 35 | $15.95 |
The Sellers column counts sellers with sales at $15 or more, so the seller counts in the sections below, which include every sale, are higher. Median price covers every sale in the type. The list keeps to two types per eBay top-level category, so Toys & Hobbies, which holds most 3D printed sales, does not fill all eight places.
1. Light-up signs and lamps
These earn the most per sale of any 3D printed type on eBay, with a median price of $39.99 across 669 listings. They sold 1,372 times in 30 days, and almost all of that revenue came from sales over $15.
The typical listing is a round LED lightbox sign for a garage or man cave, priced around $40. The catch is in what the signs show. Most of the best sellers carry a company or sports logo, and one seller made 797 of the type's 1,372 sales.
A logo sign without a license breaks eBay's custom printed products policy, which bars third-party logos used without the rights owner's consent. The format sells. The safe version is a sign built around your own artwork, a place name, or a customer's name.
2. Statues, busts and painted figures
Figures sold 1,439 times from 899 listings, with a median price of $27.99, and a quarter of the listings are priced at $51.47 or more. That is a wide range for one type, from small desk figures to large display pieces.
Original characters do well here, such as a large hand-painted alien figure at $24.96 that sold 18 times, and a lion head wall sculpture at $49.99 that sold 13. Many other top sellers are figures of film, TV and game characters, which carry the same licensing problem as logo signs.
3. Diecast and scale-model accessories
This type sells more units than any other on the list: 7,176 sales in 30 days across 2,092 listings. Its median price is only $13.89, which is why it ranks third on revenue.
Collectors of 1:64 and 1:24 diecast trucks buy printed upgrade parts: wheels and tires, hitches, tow mirrors, toolboxes, display stands. A 1:64 semi truck wheel and tire set at $17.50 sold 82 times, and a four-tier 1/24 NASCAR display stand at $18.95 sold 25. The very cheapest parts, at $4 to $5, sell in the hundreds, but they earn little per sale. One seller made 2,975 of the type's sales, so expect a strong incumbent.
4. Cosplay masks, helmets and armor
Wearable masks and helmets sold 1,517 times with a median price of $24.99, and full armor sets sell for well over $100. It is a high-ticket type for printers that can produce large, smooth parts.
The demand runs on characters. Superhero domino masks at $29.99 and space-western helmets at $38 are among the most sold, and most of the best sellers depict film and comic characters. Original or generic designs do sell, such as a full-face novelty mask at $49.99 that sold 13 times, but treat this type as one where a takedown can end a listing that is doing well.
5. Car and truck parts and trim
In eBay Motors, 3D printed parts sold 1,194 times from 552 listings, at a median price of $17.49. Sales of $15 or more brought in $30,937.
This is the type built on problems the original manufacturer stopped solving. Cup holders for 1973 to 1987 Chevy and GMC trucks, convertible roof rail guides for one Mini Cooper model, a window switch bezel for 1994 to 1997 Ford crew cabs. Each listing names the exact vehicle and years it fits, which is how buyers search. A part that fits one vehicle sells slowly, though: even the best-selling listings in this type sold fewer than 10 times in the 30 days.
6. Home and workshop organizers
Organizers sold 1,166 times at a median price of $16.99, across 214 sellers. No single seller dominates, which makes it easier to enter than most types here.
The listings that sell solve a specific fit. A replacement top handle for a tool storage system, a three-pack of locking parts containers, a tray for CAT40 machine tool holders. Generic "desk organizer" listings face far more competition. A part that works with a tool system buyers already own gives them a reason to choose you.
7. Retro gaming and console add-ons
Gaming add-ons sold 1,321 times from 613 listings, with a median price of $15.99. The top sellers are display stands, mounts and grips, many for consoles that are no longer made.
A display stand for the Sega Game Gear at $16.85 sold 46 times. A tray mount for a GameCube drive replacement sold 24 at $22.99, and an 18-cartridge NES display stand sold 10 at $34.99. Like car parts, each one names the exact hardware it fits.
8. Musical instruments and parts
A small type with loyal buyers: 540 sales from 127 listings, with a median price of $15.95. It made the list with 261 sales at $15 or more, and it is the clearest example of a niche a few skilled sellers own.
Two sellers made more than half the sales. One sells 3D printed Native American style flutes from $22.99 to $81.99. The other sells small parts averaging about $4 a sale.
Drum hardware is a line of its own, such as replacement Ludwig lug spacers at $19.98, which sold 20 times. These are products that need instrument knowledge as well as a printer, and only 53 sellers compete in the whole type.
What sells a lot but earns little
Action-figure accessories sold 4,838 times in 30 days, more than any type except diecast parts, but at a median price of $7.43. Custom heads, harnesses and small vehicle parts for 6-inch and 3.75-inch figures sell constantly, and one seller made 3,112 of those sales.
That is the pattern to watch for across 3D printing on eBay. Most listings are cheap and sell rarely: of the 18,971 listings in this data, 11,955 sold exactly one unit in the 30 days, and only 338 reached 10 sales. Twelve reached 100, and only one of those was priced at $15 or more.
The flip side is that small numbers are normal. Among the top 1,000 sellers of 3D printed items, 69 made 100 or more sales in the month and 493 made 10 or more. A shop selling a few dozen prints a month is already ahead of most of the market.
How do the popular 3D print lists compare with eBay sales?
Most lists of 3D prints to sell recommend fidget toys, tabletop miniatures and planters. On eBay.com in the 30 days to October 1, 2026, fidget toys sold well but cheaply, miniatures sold modestly, and planters and cookie cutters barely sold at all.

Articulated and fidget toys recorded 1,402 sales from 760 listings, at a median price of $11.99. It is the most crowded type in this data, with 381 sellers. It cleared the bar for this list, with 440 sales at $15 or more, but its eBay category, Toys & Hobbies, already holds two of the eight places.
Tabletop terrain and miniatures recorded 296 sales from 163 listings, at a median of $15.99. Miniatures based on a game's own designs carry the licensing risk covered below.
Planters and vases recorded 54 sales from 26 listings, and cookie cutters and kitchen prints recorded 36. That does not mean nobody buys them. It means eBay buyers are not looking for them there, so a planter design needs its demand checked on the marketplace where you plan to sell it. The licensing problem in most best-seller lists
Many of the best selling 3D printed items on eBay depict characters or logos the seller does not own, and eBay does not allow that. Its custom printed products policy bars third-party images and logos used without the rights owner's consent.
The policy's own examples include T-shirts with a company's logo and water bottles with cartoon characters copied from a brand's site. A 3D printed sign or figure is the same idea in another material. Rights owners enforce this: in 2023 Games Workshop, the company behind Warhammer, filed 12 claims with the US Copyright Claims Board against one creator who converted its game models into printable files and sold prints, seeking $30,000 per case (Plagiarism Today).
So read the eight types above as product formats, not as a list of designs to copy. The safe routes are:
- your own designs;
- files whose license allows commercial sale;
- a genuine license from the brand.

How to check a 3D print idea before you make a batch
Before you print a batch, search the exact item on eBay, compare its sales with a simple benchmark, and study the seller already winning in that niche. The table above shows which types sell; these three checks show whether your design will. Each takes a few minutes.
A Product Research search for "3d printed" on eBay.com, pulled 2026-10-27 (the 30 days end at the index's last eBay.com refresh, October 1). It counts every listing by a US seller with both words in the title, sold or not, so its totals differ from the cleaned data set behind the table above. Narrow the keyword to your own item for a real check.
Search the exact item. Open the eBay Product Research Tool, choose eBay, and enter a keyword such as "1:64 truck wheels" or "game gear stand". Use the exclude-phrase filter to strip out what you do not make, set a price band, and pick a 7, 14, 21 or 30-day window. The results show sell-through, listings, sold items and sale earnings for the keyword.
Read the numbers against a benchmark. ZIK's guidance for new eBay sellers is to look for items with at least 2 sales in 7 days, or 6 in 30, and 5 or fewer competitors. Many 3D printed niches will fall short on sales, as the data above shows, so weigh a slow but uncontested niche against a busy one where one seller holds most of the sales.
Study a seller who is already winning. Use the eBay Competitor Research Tool to study a successful 3D print shop: it shows a seller's sell-through, active listings and sale earnings over 7 to 30 days, and Scan Seller opens it straight from a product search. You see which of their designs carry the shop and which never sell.
For quick checks while browsing, the free eBay Chrome Extension shows an item's sold history and a seller's sales on the eBay page itself. When you list, the eBay Title Builder suggests title keywords from buyer searches and sales, which matters in this market because buyers search by fit and scale ("1:64", "for 1994 Ford").
Before you price, run the fees. eBay's final value fee is 13.6% for most categories if you have no Store, plus a per-order fee, and ZIK's eBay fee calculator works out the payout on a given price.
Find 3D prints that sell with ZIK Analytics
The best selling 3D printed items on eBay are product formats with a clear buyer: light-up signs, painted figures, diecast and scale-model parts, cosplay masks, vehicle trim, organizers, retro gaming stands and instruments. The money sits above $15, and most of the market is small sellers with a few sales a month, so a focused line of your own designs can stand out quickly.
If you want to see these numbers for your own idea before you print, the eBay Product Research Tool is part of ZIK Analytics, which you can try on a $1 trial for 7 days. For the wider picture, see the best selling items on eBay overall and how print on demand compares with dropshipping.
Frequently asked questions
What should I sell with my 3D printer?
Start with a product format that already sells and add your own design. On eBay, light-up signs, painted figures, diecast parts, cosplay masks and car trim all recorded hundreds of sales in 30 days. Pick one you can print well, check the exact item's demand, and avoid designs you do not have the rights to.
What is the most sold 3D printed item?
By units on eBay, small 1:64 scale diecast truck parts such as hitches, mirrors and wheel sets, many under $5. By revenue, light-up LED signs lead, with a median price of $39.99. Figures and painted statues come second by revenue.
Is 3D printing 40k illegal?
Selling prints of Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 designs, or of files made from them, risks copyright and trademark claims. In 2023 Games Workshop filed 12 claims with the US Copyright Claims Board against one creator who sold printed models. This is general information, not legal advice.
Where can I find free 3D printer designs?
Free model sites such as Thingiverse let you download designs at no cost, but free to download is not free to sell. Most Thingiverse uploads carry a Creative Commons NonCommercial license (Clever Creations), which bars use "primarily intended for commercial advantage or monetary compensation" (Creative Commons). Check each file's license, or ask the designer.
What are the best 3D printed gifts to sell?
Figures and light-up signs are the two highest-priced types on eBay, with median prices of $27.99 and $39.99. Both work as gifts. A sign with a buyer's name or town avoids the logo problem that affects many listings.
Can you make money selling 3D printed items on eBay?
Some sellers do, but most sell little. Among the top 1,000 sellers of 3D printed items, 69 made 100 or more sales in 30 days. Pricing above $15 matters most: those sales made 43% of the units but 76% of the revenue.
